THEME UP

Theme Up was a one-day special event that was organized throughout the year. Students and lecturers alike were given the opportunity to dress up based on a certain theme. The event’s main purposes were either to raise awareness towards an issue, to celebrate an event or just to have fun.

 

Previous Themes: -

Pink Day - 4th February 2016
In conjunction with World Cancer Day, everyone was encouraged to dress up in pink to raise awareness towards cancer.
 

Favorite Colour Day - 14th June 2016
Everyone was encouraged to put on clothes in their favorite color and have some fun bonding with each other using colors.

 

Mismatch - 1st April 2016
Everyone was encouraged to “accidentally” wear the wrong clothing or wear the right clothing in a wrong way to celebrate April Fools. This was also aimed to help students destress by laughing at each other’s’ silly outfits.

 

Code Red - 7th February 2017

Everyone was encouraged to wear something red and approach our booth where we gave out Angpaos and Mandarin oranges to celebrate Chinese New Year.

 

Mental Health Day - 12th October 2017
Everyone was encouraged to wear something green or to put on a green ribbon as we aimed to spread the word and raise awareness on mental health among our families and friends.

 

Aloha Ohana - 9th November 2017
In conjunction with Mahalo Week, everyone was encouraged to be dress up in something white or floral to match the event’s theme which was a Hawaiian Luau. Mahalo Week was organized to spark and cultivate the culture of appreciation among university students.
